What's the most sensible thing you've ever heard someone say?
One of the most sensible pieces of advice I've heard is to surround yourself with people from all generations. There is great wisdom to be learned from those who have "gone there" before you. There is also wisdom in passing the knowledge that you have gained, down to the next generation. And many times, if you listen, you may learn something from someone younger than you as well! Knowledge is power.
What gets you excited about life?
One thing that gets me excited in life is seeing other's step out of their comfort zones and try new things with a passion. This may be my husband pursuing his dream job, my kids trying a new activity, or a colleague getting a promotion after working hard to achieve it. Being passionate about new adventures, whether we completely succeed or simply learn something new while on the journey makes us a stronger person.
If you had to teach something what would you teach?
Teaching people to react positively and live a life filled with joy can change your whole outlook on life! Being positive is not always easy, but I try to lead by example and teach my kids to respond with a joyful and giving heart. It's easy to get wrapped up in negativity, division and gossip, but when you choose to "assume positive intent" everything can change for the better.
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?
I would be 23! At that age, I was ready to explore, go on an adventure and didn't let anything stop me! I didn't let what others think of me hinder my passions, dreams or love for life!
What is your idea of a fun date night?
Downtown Minneapolis is one of my favorite places. It is where I first fell in love with my husband, and many memories have been made there! Keeping it simple by hopping on $5 scooters, grabbing a quick meal from a local restaurant, and then going on a sunset walk around Lake Calhoun is my idea of a perfect date night!
